A new love

I have a new cereal obsession.

I just picked it up 2 days ago, tried to hide

it from James (unsuccessfully) and ate the last

bowl for breakfast this morning.

My sweet grandma passed away a couple weeks ago.

Sadly, I looked around for a picture and this was the only

recent one I could find. Last year at our Warm River Reunion.

She is the beautiful lady in red at the end. She is sitting

next to her two sister in laws, my great aunt Edna and my

great aunt Katie. They each married a Cunningham boy.

I had so many great memories with my grandma.

Including but not limited to:

Sleepovers in the Trailer, Warm River, Strawberry Pie,

Blackfoot, Hotcakes for Breakfast, Shanghi,

Carrot Juice, Vitamins, Costumes in the backyard,

Christmas Day, Fried Chicken, Porcelain Dolls,

Birthdays, Grandma's Infectious Laugh,

Life of Service, Cleaning, Tarts

and always, always being made to feel special.

Grandma, you will be missed.

Hi! You must check out my new Photography Blog when you get a minute. If you have been wondering if Idaho swallowed us up, never fear...we are still here, I've just been a bit preoccupied! I got an entirely new logo, blog, website design as well as other business items. It is very exciting and I am looking forward to a fun summer of taking pictures!

In other news... we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary! I can't believe how fast the time flies. We ran up to Sun Valley, Idaho for our anniversary and walked through some shops, ate at an amazing restaurant, and had a big old Oreo Milkshake from Shorty's in Ketchum to celebrate! It was just fun to get out and see some new countryside.

Here is to year 2 and many more to come!

Also, James's birthday is tomorrow! So you can bet that breakfast in bed as well as his favorite Swiss Steak and Green Mint Brownies will most definitely be on the menu. Love that boy!

The New Place

Well, here it is folks! Our humble abode in Twin Falls! (I had just done some cleaning, so I thought it was probably the perfect time to share some pictures of the new place, just in case it never looks that clean again...) It is so fun to be true Idahoan's again! We love it so far!

Here is the front room.

Kind of like our place in Salt Lake, we have a laundry

room and pantry right off of our kitchen.

The bathroom is pretty boring so far.

A very random post

Phew...Nothing but boxes, cleaner, and vacuuming over here! (And maybe a little bit of the 5 hour version of Pride and Prejudice while I'm cleaning...) We move to Idaho tomorrow. Wow, TOMORROW, people! Tomorrow always seemed so far away and then all of a sudden it just showed up. I have been busy trying to pack in an organized manner and if you have ever moved before, we all know that that lasts like maybe 10 seconds. I can be as organized as I can be, but then there is ALWAYS. MORE. STUFF. You might think that is the last of it, then it's like, "oh yeah - I forgot about that, Oh yeah - that too, oh, yeah - that...there is just STUFF EVERYWHERE! Okay, I'm done with my rant. I would way rather be packing than be at work, where James is today, so I guess I should count my blessings. And in brighter news, we dropped a big load off at the DI and let me just tell you, that felt amazing.

Well, I do have a few pictures of our last couple weeks here in Logan. They aren't amazing, but they are better than nothing! I really am trying to be better to use my camera for PERSONAL stuff as well as business.

Last week, we had a great day before Easter Celebration. I created a mini easter egg hunt for James, which he whined about the whole time because he doesn't want to have to FIND his eggs, he just wants to eat the candy. So we finally resorted to me telling him hot or cold if he was close to an egg, to get his torture over with quicker. And I was a really cool, sexy wife because I left him love notes in the eggs as well. :)

Then after the egg hunt, I made him go on a nature walk with me that I've wanted to go on for a long time. It is by the golf course in Logan, there is a trail that follows the Logan River. It is very pretty and relaxing and I just needed to smell nature for a bit. Bring on Summer, I am SO READY! We both smelled a bit like we had been camping when we got back and it was wonderful. I don't know how we smelled like camping because there was no campfire around or anything, but we did!

After our nature walk, I again made him take me to a little movie

called Water for Elephants. This is how I asked James to go over text messaging:

Cindy: Hey can we go see Water for Elephants tonight?

James: What the H is that? My instinct tells me no.

Cindy: It is a total guy movie, you will love it.

James: No.

When he got home, I showed him a preview, begged and he finally said yes.

He loves me.

And we both liked the movie a-lot. James liked it, I LOVED it.

Just FYI.

I can't believe we are coming up on 2 years this month.

Pretty crazy.

Idaho Bound

That's right!

In a couple weeks we will be headed HERE:

with smiles on our faces!

Yes, we did just move to Logan last August. :)

James has decided to change his major from Forestry and pursue

the Nursing Program. In doing some research, we discovered

that we can save a boatload of money by attending in Twin Falls.

Not to mention that it is very close to our families who we miss

when we are away too long. We have been looking for a reason

to get back to Idaho, it just came sooner than we were expecting!

We have loved living in Logan! We have made some great friends

and both of us have just learned so much while being here. We have

both grown so much here by meeting the people we did. I feel

that it was a very much needed stop for us. An important stop

that has and will change our lives for the better because of it..

Our time in Logan has been short, but a very

important stop for us and one we will remember for a lifetime.

It is interesting to be able to look back on our lives and our

journey and be able to see the hand of the Lord in plotting

our life's map. The road we take and the stops we get off

on. We have been very blessed to know the Lord is behind

us and can feel his hand in our lives. The move to Twin is

scary. We have to start all over again, in a sense, but we are

excited as well and are looking forward to leaping with faith.

(Woah, I don't usually go this deep on here...haha)

Anyway, now we are Idaho bound in a couple weeks and I haven't

done a lick of packing. Why is it that procrastination seems to makes

me the most productive in the end??

Egg-cellent Weekend

It was a great weekend of family food and FUN!

It figures that all of this fun happened in IDAHO! Woot Woot!

We had a great time with family at my cousin

Garrett's Farewell. He is going to be a great

missionary! It was fun to hang out with

family and cousins we hadn't seen in a while.

Oh and every year my mom puts on an Easter Egg hunt

for all the kiddos. It was awesome as usual and here

are some pics. I may be biased, but I have some dang

cute nices and nephews...

We are MOVING to Idaho in just a few

short weeks! It's been a six year run in Utah

for me. It's been so fun and we have made some

amazing friends here.

The Duo who JUST might Save Country Music

I am a fan of COUNTRY music. Not country pop. Sorry Tim McGraw, but

that's what you are now. And don't even get me started on Toby Keith.

These two are who they are wherever they go and whoever they play for (say that 10 times)

and a girl just has to respect that. They are COUNTRY and proud of it.

And I just happen to be the same way. :)

I just downloaded the second album and I love it as much as the first.

They are country darlings.

Hey There Mr. Tax Man

Tax season 2011:

Is tax season (for all of you who are too cheap to pay for a real accountant) frustrating to you???

Here is a break down of how our process went:

-Turbo Tax
-Trying to find all W-9's this last year. Including um...FOUR for me. Yes, FOUR.
-Thinking we are doing awesome when we found all of our W-9's, until realizing we still have to find a whole bunch of other crap needed for taxes (stock info, bank account info, 401K info...)
-Having 3 or 4 frustration arguments between my hubby and I (probably less than last year).
-Punching buttons on Turbo Tax we THINK are right, but really we have no idea what they mean.

Really, is it worth all of this stress (on our marriage - haha)??? Next year, I am thinking Mr. Accountant man is sounding nice.

So it's no secret I have sucked it up big time with blogging on this thing lately, but I do have a pretty good excuse. I have been working my tail end off getting my new photography website up and running. While, it is still under construction and I'm trying to work out a few "kinks" with the decor and stuff, I am mostly posting over there. While I have tampered with the idea of just combining my personal and photography blog, I'm not sure i want to give this blog up quite yet. I might try it for a while and see how I feel about it. I am thankful to have an

amazing husband.

it is only 2 freaking degrees outside!!!

This is because he will start my car

for me in the morning on his way

to work.

When we were dating

it used to be the flowers and dates

But now I think the car thing might be

This last weekend

This last weekend was

AWESOME

WONDERFUL

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED.

Friday night after work, we headed

up to Lehi to hang out with my

brother and sister-in-law.

On the way, we picked up dinner

for all of us...we pulled off at a

convenient little spot right off of

exit 123 in Murray. It has a Cafe

Rio and a ZUPAS right next to

each other...Best night EVER!

Then we drove to Lehi, hung

out, played games and talked.

Then we were woken up in the

morning by a couple of cuties who

heard there was a surprise waiting

for them in the basement. (Thanks Casey.)

The next day was fruit filled Crepes

MMM...(thanks Trace), Chiropractor

visit, which meant a Tai Pan Trading

visit for me while I was waiting, then

another stop off at ZUPAS for lunch.

We are a bit obsessed with the Cauliflower

soup. Then we drove to Park City and

shopped and just hung out together.

After Park City, we drove to Salt

Lake, stopped off at the English

Market for James, then hung out

at the Gateway and bought more

awesome stuff. After we met

out besties at Sawadees for some

delish Thai food. Then it was off

to D and T's for Dessert and movie.

Then we made the long trip home.

Sometimes, it is just good to get

out and see stuff and just

HANG OUT and be together.

It was a good weekend.

One resolution

Alright, I've got plenty of resolutions and things

to work on this coming year, but a-lot of those

are personal, thank you very much. But I

will share one thing with you, because it

may benefit you. Or you may not care.

Backstory:

I was going back through my blog the

other day, reading old posts (basically

James and I's diary of since we've been

married) and I realized that the past few

months or so, we haven't done much of

anything crazy or fun like we did our

first year.

I hardly have any new pictures posted

and I hardly ever break out my camera

when it's just the two of us anymore.

I didn't even take my camera out of

the bag during christmas this year.

UGH! Pathetic, I know! I am kicking

myself now...

I realize that we've been busy with school,

work, and granted it is winter (who wants

to go outside if they don't have to??). But

it still makes me sad. Last year, we did tons

of stuff (not all of it big, but we even made the

little things we did fun and a big production.)

I miss that. So my new resolution for this

year is to bring my camera to document

James and I's 2nd full year of marriage.

I am going to make us take more little road

trips to see new things, document our life

in our tiny little apartment in a college town,

and take pictures with our families.

That is my new years gift to you!

Revisiting an old classic

I have made an important

yesterday.

I was home all morning before work,

cleaning, folding laundry, throwing

dinner in the crockpot, you know that

sort of stuff.

It was quiet, so I put on this old movie

for some background noise.

I had almost kind of forgotten about it.

Now, I will boldly say that it could quite

possibly be in my top 3 favorite movies

of all time. It is a classic.

It may or may not have been on

repeat the the whole morning.

Favorite Things 2010

Back by popular demand (not really)

our list of Favorites for this past year!

These are the things we were obsessed with,

couldn't live with out, and used/had ALOT.

And yes, I do realize a-lot of these have

to do with food...

First up and in no particular order:

I can't mention a post like this

without Zupas. Best soup, best

bread, best salads.

This happens to be one of my favorite combos...

Tomato Soup and Nuts about Berries Salad. MMMM!

This game happens to be a favorite with our

friends in Salt Lake. Hardly a night when we

are all together goes by without breaking out

the cards and chips. So much fun. Especially

when I win, but I'll admit, that doesn't happen

TOO often.

James and I have pretty much

perfected the art of homemade

pizza this year. (At least to

our standards.) The secret is

FRESH mozzarella and thin crust.

We were on a quest to re-make pizza

from Italy. We aren't that close actually

but we are the closest we've ever been.

This is more of a James favorite

than my favorite. The series is good

I just got tired of the same thing.

But Jack Bauer is still a stud and

James LOVES this show!

This is a new-found favorite.

We showed up on a Friday one

night, ordered the date night

special. Ate so much delicious

food they had to wheel us out

of there. We have not let ourselves

go back, but just know that it is

hard not to.

James started school this year!

This is a pic of his first day.

He is glad that this semester is

over with, but he must admit that

he enjoyed himself much more than he

thought he would. That also makes for

a happy wife. One semester down!

If our budget allows it, we try to

get out on two date nights. One date

night for dinner and one date night

for a small treat. Well, we are obsessed

with all things related to Oreo's and Ice

Cream. Coincidentally, one of our favorite

places to go in Logan is Casper's Ice Cream.

The place is so cute and classic and the ice

cream is rich and thick.

Um. if you read this blog at all

you already know we had problems with

this show a couple months ago. It took

over our whole life and we/I love Michael

Scofield. It was a great series, but

most especially the first season.

This is a great Date Night place.

We can order one burrito for $10 bucks,

split it between the two of us, and

chow down on free all you can eat chips

and salsa. It is a great deal!

I don't know if this should be called

a Favorite thing, but it was a big

thing for us in 2010. We left our

jobs, friends, and first apartment

in Salt Lake for a big move to Logan

so James could start school. It has

turned out to be a great move, but we

still have to say we loved our time in

Salt Lake and miss our friends. We visit

them every chance we get! Here are some

pics of the old apartment... Oh and

we took that bottom picture after a day

full of moving heaving boxes up and

down 2 flights of stairs all day. Don't

judge. haha!

Now don't let the seemingly lame-ness quality of

this next picture fool you. This game rocks.

Our favorite couple to play this with would

probably be Dave and Teresa. It is always

boys against girls and there is always

fights and "googling" and looking up words

in the dictionary. It is a good night.

And we all make up in the end.

I've been busy baking a bit lately.

My favorite things to make are cakes

and cupcakes. Decorating them is just

so much fun. My cousin and I took some

cake decorating courses earlier this

year that was so much stinkin fun.

Here are a few creations

of the past few months.

James and I were able to go to Oregon

Coast with my family this year. It was

the first time my family as it is now, has

ever gone on an official vacation. It was

awesome and so fun to show my family

the sights.

This year has been a great year of

learning and education and officially

getting my business started. I have

taken classes that I loved from a great

teacher Brooke Snow. I feel I have

grown so much in photography and my

understanding my camera and being more

creative. I love Photography and I'm

excited to learn where 2011 takes me!

I'm sure there has been more things that have

stood out to us this year, but I think this

pretty much sums up our year up to this point.

Weekend in Salt Lake

We went to Salt Lake last

weekend for this wedding:

Which was BEAUTIFUL! So cute

and classy. Not to mention they had

ZUPAS cater their luncheon. If you

know me at all, you know that Zupas

is my favorite place to eat. I ate so much

soup and bread I had a stomach ache all day

but I have decided that it was WORTH IT!

Logan needs a Zupas.

So of course, I didn't get one picture

of the wedding, but we got a few hanging

out at Dave and Teresa's house...

our gracious hosts.

The boys had a slight obsession

with an N64 Football game this trip.

No big deal cause the girls and

I had a lot to catch up on.

But we did get in quite a

bit for our time here...

Bowling, Poker, Word on the Street...

Then Teresa made waffles and homemade

granola for breakfast. Freaking amazing!

We miss our friends!

A few weeks (months??) ago a good friend of mine from

good ol' IFA came up to Logan. It was so fun to catch

up on all of our juicy company gossip! Love this girl!

Riddle me this

Oh what's that you ask?

Why is my house a declared disaster zone?

Why has there been two big pots "soaking"

in the sink for daayyss?

Why is the counter-top in my kitchen so covered and filled

with dirty dishes that I can't see the counter? (sorry, tmi.)

Why has my laundry sat in the basket, not folded and

not put away for about a week or so?

Why are the bedrooms in my house extremely messy,

cluttered, and with clothes everywhere?

Why am I having such a hard time getting over

the flu and cold I've had for over a week?

Why am I so tired all of the time?

Why have we not taken as many walks through

the beautiful autumn season in Logan as I had planned?

Why do I have dreams of being in prison and trying to

escape like how Michael Scofield did?

OH. Perhaps this is why...

We are obsessed, addicted,

and pathetic all rolled into one.

The other night we even went so far as to have a

sleepover in the front room on the love sac

next to the TV so we could stay up later and watch longer.

I absolutely hate this feeling of being so nasty and

lazy. If you ever have the chance to watch Prison

Break, DON'T DO IT! It will ruin your life!

On a more positive note.
I have today off from

work and James and I have an agreement that

we are not allowed to watch Prison Break without

each other, so I have all day to get my house

cleaned, vacuumed, swept, laundered, and washed.

(except a few days ago, I had time to do some cleaning

but ended up just watching some of my favorite parts we

had already watched from Prison Break...)

OBSESS MUCH?!

Micah's Cake

My cutie-pie niece Micah turned 8 and got baptized

this last weekend. James was lucky enough to get

Saturday off so we made a weekend out of it visiting

his and my parents. I asked my sister if I could make

Micah a cake because lets face it, I never get the chance

to make cakes and they are my favorite thing to make.

Micah's favorite colors are blue and green.

Micah loves white cake with white frosting. So the top cake

is a homemade white cake with a caramel frosting filling and the

bottom cake is a butter pecan cake also with a caramel filling.

(mostly cause I was too lazy to figure out another filling, but

I figured anything is better with caramel.) The cake is frosted

with a buttercream frosting, then covered in fondant.

It turned out to be much more work than anticipated...haha!

But I loved it! I finished it up at my mom's house and

my sister in law (who is awesome at decorating cakes herself)

helped me "glue and paste" all the flowers and stripes and stuff.

We had a blast decorating to Taylor Swift in the background!

A Day with MA SISTAS

Birthday, Pumpkins, Friends and Fun

The other day was one of my best cousins Sue's birthday!

Wahoo! So Teresa and Dave invited everybody over to their

house for a Birthday /Celebration/pumpkin Carving Contest/Eat

alot of good food party. All of which happened. It was fun

night and so fun to see these guys we don't get to see near

as often as we would like.

Here is the Birthday girl herself. Underneath her

And I just realized, I didn't get anymore people pictures,

but lots of pumpkin pics! I brought the wrong lens with me

so I couldn't get all the pumpkins in one shot.

The pumpkin James's carved is the sad little guy on the

left in the picture above. But he wanted me to point

out that, that is all free hand, my friends!

No stenciling! haha!

It was a fun night and well worth the drive!

We have been keeping pretty darn
busy these days...

Here is a few things we've been up to.

1. Two new jobs! While I have been working at the Coppermill Restaurant in their banquet department, I just recently got a new job and I start on Monday. It is a good ol' 9-6, office work kind of job, but at least I'm not a receptionist anymore! James is working part time for a furniture company here in Logan. Life is good, as long as there is some money rolling in...

2. Taking beautiful drives around Cache Valley and loving the change of the weather.

3. Eating peaches! We bought a huge old box of peaches a week ago and have almost consumed them all! We love us some peaches!

4. Getting to know our new ward members! We have only been in the ward a month or so, but are loving it already! So many great people and have already made friends.

5. We've been to Bear Lake about 3 or so times since we have moved here. Twice with friends and once with our ward. Love it! Here's a few pics.

6. James has been going to school and actually enjoying most of his classes! Hallelujah!

7. And finally...I'm a Dot Com!!!! I have been working hard on my photography website and am loving the results! Check it out!

I love the cute archways! And, I have never had a window

above my sink since I've been married, so I am loving the light!

For a basement apartment, it is very well lit.

MY FAVORITE part of the Kitchen. A walk-in

pantry. Every woman needs one, I've decided.

It's kind of weird putting pictures on here of my pantry,

but it is what it is, I guess. It is an organized mess. ha!

Also weird to put bathroom pics up, but here she is.

Master Bedroom

We are not allowed to nail anything into the wall, so that

is why it is so bare. One day, I might get creative and hang

more things upbut for now, this will do just fine.

Our guest bedroom and storage room. LOVE IT!

There she is folks! We love our little apartment and we are close to

everything downtown. Logan is speaking our language.

A couple weekends ago a group of us went fishing.

At the Fish Hatchery.

I caught 2 fish. That makes 3 total fish for my entire life.

I guess it does help to be at a

fish hatchery where the fish are practically

jumping up and down, begging to be caught.

After we had a bonfire at Dave's parents house where

the boys filleted and fire roasted their fish while

Teresa and I happily settled for a hot dog.

Complete with S'mores.

Oh Summer, we are going to miss you when you leave us.

This one is where Dave couldn't settle for just an average fish cleaning,

so he jumped behind the counter and did it himself. haha!

Those Summer Nights

A few nights ago James and I laid out
on the grass in front of our cute little apartment.
The sky was bright and the air was
perfect for a warm summer night.
James ran inside to get more blankets and
came back with popcorn and a drink. Then we
stayed up way past our bed time, ate
popcorn, laid out on a blanket under the stars,
and watched a meteor shower.
Awesome.

The Oregon Coast

What do you get when you combine a cozy beach house, 8 Children all under the age of Seven, 8 adults, the beautiful ocean, Boogie Boards, Wet Suits, Seashells, Lighthouses, My mom and dad's A#1 breakfasts, Sticky Bun Ice Cream (perhaps the most amazing ice cream ever invented), and the Tillamok Cheese Factory???

Well, let me tell you...

This year, thanks to James's idea, we roped my entire family, except my brother and his wife who couldn't make it, into going out to the coast. For all of the kids it was the first time seeing the ocean and for all of the adults except James and I, it was the first time visit to the Oregon Coast.

And I don't think it will be our last...

And it was Beautiful!

We hadn't even been there five minutes and already he was trying to throw me in...

We took a little trolley ride in Astoria.

Each night a different family took a different night to cook dinner. This was James and I's idea of a Barbeque on the beach! We roasted hot dogs and had watermellon and chips. So much fun!

And we always had time to squeeze in a little boogie boarding...

Even my dad got into it! haha

Our last day we had a visit from James's sister Stacey and her husband Collin.

We went to eat at the Pirate's Cove right on the bay and had alot of seafood.

Well, they did, I had a hamburger and a BITE of Crab and a BITE of

Lobster. Ugh...My all cow meat hamburger was very tasty though.

We couldn't resist a smooch on the beach! :)

Don't even worry about it...

One thing is for sure...Family ROCKS! Oregon was a complete blast!

FUN IN THE SUN

4th of July afternoon we drove out to my Aunt and Uncle's house and had the years BEST barbecue ever. I can't tell you how much I love the 4th of July. Best Food EVER. After hanging out and chatting with everybody, we headed over to my sister's new house.

New house with an awesome pool...

I have some sweet pictures of James and I diving and jumping I will have to get from my mom. There was alot of contests. Which I am proud to day...James kicked some trash!! I love my family!

After Swimming and dinner, everybody headed back to my parent's house for the famous Bradshaw Firework Show. We had some pretty good ones this year, but the best are the duds. So funny.

And nobody is too old for Sparklers!

4th of July - Part One - Camping

This year we packed in a busy 4th of July.
It is my absolute favorite holiday, so I love keeping
busy with Barbeques, Swimming, Fireworks, and
Sunshine!

We kicked it off Friday night camping in
the Oakley Mountains with James's Family.
Besides being close to Sub-Zero weather,
it was a blast!

We ate Tin Foil Dinners, James
and I made a Raspberry Cobbler, roasted
S'mores, slept/froze for 2 hours in our
little nylon tent, almost had a tree fall on
us in the middle of the night, crowded in my
in-law's little camper, ate pancakes, played
with the kids, hung out and talked and
laughed with family...

And...

There was a motorcycle.

Aww...doesn't he look like a kid on Christmas morning??

Why do boys have to like only expensive toys??? And

dangerous ones??

Warm River Reunion

Every summer, my mom's family heads up past
Ashton, Idaho to a beautiful place called Warm River. Even
in August, when we usually go, it is never warm. This year,
they got the campsit for June...and it was FREEZING!
But it was also very fun! James and I camped in our
little tent (froze), took walks, went for a jog (killed me)
played games, and ate, and ate, and ate. And since I don't
have kids of mine to take pictures of yet, I concentrated
on my nieces and nephews...

Here is the classic card game of Shanghi that is a staple at
family reunions. My Grandpa is and always will be the
BEST at this game.

Gone Fishing...

What a fun reunion! It is alwasy fun to get back

It is fun to see a new generation love Warm River
as much as I did growing up. Actually, it is extremely

Back a little over 2 weeks ago,
James had a Birthday...

Let me just say that I love it when James has a
birthday because then it means that for a month
and a half we are the same age. You may be
thinking, "Wow, big deal, the same age."
But NO. Oh no no no.

James life purpose is to remind me
DAILY that I am a whopping 10
and a 1/2 months older than
him. Like, he can't NOT remind me.

Even though, technically, it just means that I am
wiser and MUCH more mature.
(Also, isn't it every boy's dream to get with an
older woman?) That is what I tell him...

SO, James's birthday means that for 1 1/2
months, I can get some peace and
quiet around here!

Adoption Boutique

A couple weekends ago, my cousins
Sue, Teresa, and I volunteered to donate a bunch
of baked goods for my cousin's Adoption
Boutique she organized.

It was more or less a craft boutique, but we are not
as much into the crafts as we are into the baking...

*I have had several friends involved in the
adoption process. I can't imagine how
hard it is with all of the emotional ups and
downs. And I just want to say that I have the
utmost respect and admiration for those who
are in the middle of it.*

I've just got to say how crazy it is with adoption and how

you can go from zero to 60 in a matter of days!

We are so happy for you guys and good luck with everything!!!

Blast from the Past

Last week one of my old, best college roommates who now
lives out in the middle of nowhere in WYOMING (sorry,
all you Wyoming-ers, couldn't resist, haha!) was passing
through the Salt Lake area.

It has been probably at least 4 years since we have seen each
other after college, marriages, moves, and babies.

It was high time we saw each other again...

Oh the memories of all the late nights staying up, talking,
reading Marcia Lynn McClure books, laughing, bawling
together on her bed watching Charly, flirting with boys,
Wendy's snorts, baking, and planning weddings just came
flooding back to me...
We had some good times that Wendy girl and me!

And she also brought with her our most favorite
neighbor and good friend at college, Suikim! This
girls is so freaking awesome and she brought her brand
new baby who is ADORABLE! Pretty much the cutest
little thing ever!

My little apartment was full of the cutest kids!

Good thing we have self timers on our cameras. James

left us after Cafe Rio...

Last weekend, James and I celebrated our

FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

Although I don't know how it could have possibly been a year
already. Our real anniversary isn't until the 30th, but this was
the weekend that worked best for a little get-a-way.

James and I had always talked about wanting to go down
to the Manti temple and about a month ago, James suprised
me with reservations to the CUTEST little Bed and Breakfast.

We kicked it off Friday after work and drove down to Manti,
Utah and saw this ol' beauty:

We got to our bed and breakfast and then ate dinner at the
resturant below. It was so good! Then we got in our car
and toured Manti. (It took about a minute.) Then we drove
up to the temple and walked around.

We both decided that it was probably our new favorite
temple. So beautiful and unique, inside and out.

This was our bed and breakfast just across the street
from the temple. We stayed in the Brigham Young Suite
and it was so awesome! I loved everything about it.
And that porch...James had a hard time getting me to
leave the porch swing...

The next morning, we opened our shutters to
this view...

Not too shabby...

That next morning, we had the best french toast ever made
and then made a quick run to the Ephraim Wal-Mart to grab
some church clothes that somebody forgot, then made it back
in time for the 9:30 Session. It was beautiful and we loved
every second of it.

After the temple, we got some lunch and then we walked around
some of the shops in the town. Actually we walked around all
three shops in town. We love Manti, it was so fun and
a very relaxing and the perfect place to go for our anniversary.

Pros and Cons of a Snow Day in May

CONS:

Cindy has to go to WORK while James stays home.

Cindy has to get out of bed while James is still in bed.

James reminds Cindy EVERY 12 SECONDS that he is

at home today, not working but still getting paid, just

in case she forgets...

PRO'S:

I get to snuggle with James longer in the morning.

James meets me for lunch and we eat a Subway Sandwich,

walk around Costco for a while, and split a McDonald's

hot fudge sundae.

James is a VERY happy boy all day long!

You did WHAT?!?!

My mom came and stayed last night at the
Steel B&B and it was pretty dang fun. I dropped her off early
at the airport this morning for her flight out to Arizona
for a couple days.

She took us out to Zupas...one of James and I's favorite place.
Tomato Soup and California Turkey sandwich (cold)...in case anybody is wondering.

Then we watched The Biggest Loser (What the heck Daris?!?!)

But it was after the show was over and we were all just
lounging around, that my mom's true colors came out.

While we were sworn to secrecy, we got her to tell us some of
the things she did in High School that she swore she would
NEVER tell her mom. Some of it was pretty good too...
(Not BAD things), just those things you wouldn't necesarrily
want your mom to hear about...at least not until 20 or 30
years down the road and they can't get mad at you anymore.

Now I can't wait to have that talk with my mom in 20 years!
I've got some things to get off my chest...

RAVISHED

I just got thrown on the love sac and

RAVISHED.

James jumped on me and hugged

kissed and made me laugh

so hard he effectively made me

SNORT.

Then we laughed our guts out and

cuddled there for about 30 Seconds until

SMALLVILLE

came back on. Then James let go of me,

pushed me off the love sac, turned up the volume

and said lovingly "We're done here..."

How is your Friday night???
