A new love

I have a new cereal obsession.

I just picked it up 2 days ago, tried to hide
it from James (unsuccessfully) and ate the last
bowl for breakfast this morning.

I guess there are worst things to be addicted to.

Hey There Mr. Tax Man

Tax season 2011:

Is tax season (for all of you who are too cheap to pay for a real accountant) frustrating to you???

Here is a break down of how our process went:

-Turbo Tax
-Trying to find all W-9's this last year.  Including um...FOUR for me. Yes, FOUR.
-Thinking we are doing awesome when we found all of our W-9's, until realizing we still have to find a whole bunch of other crap needed for taxes (stock info, bank account info, 401K info...)
-Having 3 or 4 frustration arguments between my hubby and I (probably less than last year).
-Punching buttons on Turbo Tax we THINK are right, but really we have no idea what they mean.

Really, is it worth all of this stress (on our marriage - haha)???   Next year, I am thinking Mr. Accountant man is sounding nice.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT TAX RETURN THOUGH.

2 degrees

I am thankful to have an
amazing husband.

I am most especially thankful to have an
amazing husband when
it is only 2 freaking degrees outside!!!

This is because he will start my car
for me in the morning on his way
to work.

When we were dating
it used to be the flowers and dates
and cute little visits to my work...

But now I think the car thing might be
sexier.

I love love love him.

This last weekend

This last weekend was

AWESOME
WONDERFUL
JUST WHAT WE NEEDED.

Friday night after work, we headed
up to Lehi to hang out with my
brother and sister-in-law.

On the way, we picked up dinner
for all of us...we pulled off at a
convenient little spot right off of
exit 123 in Murray.  It has a Cafe
Rio and a ZUPAS right next to
each other...Best night EVER!

Then we drove to Lehi, hung
out, played games and talked.
Then we were woken up in the
morning by a couple of cuties who
heard there was a surprise waiting
for them in the basement. (Thanks Casey.)

The next day was fruit filled Crepes
MMM...(thanks Trace), Chiropractor
visit, which meant a Tai Pan Trading
visit for me while I was waiting, then
another stop off at ZUPAS for lunch.
We are a bit obsessed with the Cauliflower
soup.  Then we drove to Park City and
shopped and just hung out together.

After Park City, we drove to Salt
Lake, stopped off at the English
Market for James, then hung out
at the Gateway and bought more
awesome stuff.  After we met
out besties at Sawadees for some
delish Thai food.  Then it was off
to D and T's for Dessert and movie.

Then we made the long trip home.

Sometimes, it is just good to get
out and see stuff and just
HANG OUT and be together.

It was a good weekend.

Sorry no pictures today.

Revisiting an old classic

I have made an important
Re-discovery
yesterday.

I was home all morning before work,
cleaning, folding laundry, throwing
dinner in the crockpot, you know that
sort of stuff.

It was quiet, so I put on this old movie
for some background noise.

I had almost kind of forgotten about it.

Now, I will boldly say that it could quite
possibly be in my top 3 favorite movies
of all time.  It is a classic.

It may or may not have been on
repeat the the whole morning.

January Blues

I'm dreaming...

-OF SUN!  Please oh please, can Summer just get here already???  I love Logan, but these winters might be the death of me!

-For my dishes to do themselves.

-For Christmas to take down itself. (Okay, I've just been super lazy lately.)

-For the weekend to get here.

Can't wait for...

-WPPI Photography conference with Kristin and Belinda. YAY!!

-To use up some gift cards from Christmas...TJ MAXX and Maurices HERE I COME!

-James and I to actually go somewhere and do something so I can have pictures to document my life and my blog not be so boring.

-Teresa to have her baby already!  March just get here! (Love u T-pie.)

-Outside photography season.

-SUN.  Did I say that one already?

And because it is January and there is no end in sight for the BLASTED COLD, here are some picks of good times with our friend the sun this past summer.

The first few pics are from floating the provo river. It was one of the funnest things ever. There was a huge group of us and we all hung on together almost the whole trip.  Awesome.

Here is me and the Mister.

These next pics are from one of our trips to
Bear Lake with friends.
Here is Nick, the Merman.

The creators of Nick the Merman

And of course...Raspberry Shakes after!
(Who am I kidding. It was OREO ok.  Oreo.
And it was delicious.)

Winter.  You are not my friend.
Summer, I will be waiting for you.

A Cozy Snowy Evening

Spent last night...

Baking for the Holiday

Watching the swirling snow outside my
window and shaking my head at all
of the crazy drivers out on the road.

Frosting Sugar Cookies with James

Watching Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman
(It was the best episode...the one where
she goes back to Boston to see her
mom and Sully goes there to find her.)
EPIC

Spending today...

Cleaning
Packing
Folding Laundry
Wrapping Presents

Listening to Christmas Music
(Niel Diamond, Martina McBride,
and SheDaisy, as well as a few
oldie goldies I found on ITunes.)

Waiting IMPATIENTLY
for James to get home so that we
can spend Thanksgiving in Idaho with Family.

Jobs, Snowy Roads, and Storms can make
holiday's a beast in the Wintertime!

I hope everybody has a
great Thanksgiving!

Taylor Swift

I have decided I'm a girl
who can get rather um...

OBSESSED

easily.

But I'm sorry, have you heard this yet?

I love her honesty and writing style.

And I now hate John Mayer.  haha

I would recommend getting the Target
version because there are 3 extra songs on it.
(3 extra great songs)

While I'm on the verge of being very
much OD'd on this CD, I must say
Speak Now, Dear John,
Never Grow Up, Enchanted
If This was a Movie, and
Superman (cause it reminds me of someone)
are still my top plays.

It might not be for everyone,
but I happen to love it!

And I promise that I will start to
post real stuff soon.  Just as soon
as we start doing something interesting.

I promise this is the last one...

Homemade Pizza

Popcorn

James

Couch

Michael Scofield

Three episodes left.

It ends tonight.

Question:

Is it a bit too obsessive if I actually have to stop myself
from praying for Michael Scofield while James
and I were saying our prayers before bed?

Friday, November 5, 2010

dang it

We had a nice 4 day break.

Thinking we could hold out until
Christmas.

Then ONE of us cracked.

It begins again...

I'm sorry house, I'll take care
of you in a couple weeks.

Riddle me this

Oh what's that you ask?

Why is my house a declared disaster zone?

Why has there been two big pots "soaking"
in the sink for daayyss?

Why is the counter-top in my kitchen so covered and filled
with dirty dishes that I can't see the counter? (sorry, tmi.)

Why has my laundry sat in the basket, not folded and
not put away for about a week or so?

Why are the bedrooms in my house extremely messy,
cluttered, and with clothes everywhere?

Why am I having such a hard time getting over
the flu and cold I've had for over a week?

Why am I so tired all of the time?

Why have we not taken as many walks through
the beautiful autumn season in Logan as I had planned?

Why do I have dreams of being in prison and trying to
escape like how Michael Scofield did?

OH.  Perhaps this is why...

We are obsessed, addicted,
and pathetic all rolled into one.

The other night we even went so far as to have a
sleepover in the front room on the love sac
next to the TV so we could stay up later and watch longer.

I absolutely hate this feeling of being so nasty and
lazy.  If you ever have the chance to watch Prison
Break, DON'T DO IT!  It will ruin your life!

On a more positive note.
I have today off from
work and James and I have an agreement that
we are not allowed to watch Prison Break without
each other, so I have all day to get my house
cleaned, vacuumed, swept, laundered, and washed.

(except a few days ago, I had time to do some cleaning
but ended up just watching some of my favorite parts we
had already watched from Prison Break...)

geez,
OBSESS MUCH?!

The latest

We have been keeping pretty darn
busy these days...

Here is a few things we've been up to.

1. Two new jobs!  While I have been working at the Coppermill Restaurant in their banquet department, I just recently got a new job and I start on Monday.  It is a good ol' 9-6, office work kind of job, but at least I'm not a receptionist anymore! James is working part time for a furniture company here in Logan.  Life is good, as long as there is some money rolling in...

2. Taking beautiful drives around Cache Valley and loving the change of the weather.

3. Eating peaches!  We bought a huge old box of peaches a week ago and have almost consumed them all! We love us some peaches!

4. Getting to know our new ward members!  We have only been in the ward a month or so, but are loving it already!  So many great people and have already made friends.

5. We've been to Bear Lake about 3 or so times since we have moved here.  Twice with friends and once with our ward.  Love it!  Here's a few pics.

6. James has been going to school and actually enjoying most of his classes!  Hallelujah!

7. And finally...I'm a Dot Com!!!!  I have been working hard on my photography website and am loving the results!  Check it out!

The Website

Well, signing off for now...

Those Summer Nights

A few nights ago James and I laid out
on the grass in front of our cute little apartment.
The sky was bright and the air was
perfect for a warm summer night.
James ran inside to get more blankets and
came back with popcorn and a drink.  Then we
stayed up way past our bed time, ate
popcorn, laid out on a blanket under the stars,
and watched a meteor shower.
Awesome.

Goodbye...Santa Fe

Well...the time has come.

Just a few pics to remember our first apartment
as a married couple.

The Front Room

Dining Room/Front Room/Gambling Table

The Kitchen

Pantry/Laundry Room

The Kitchen Staples

The Guest Bedroom/Room that we
throw all of our extra crap into...

Master Bedroom

Our messy closet

The thing I will miss the most...
my own vanity

Bathroom

Our view...Definitely not a country girl's paradise
but it worked pretty well for us for a while.

We had a lot of great memories in this house! We will
miss our friends, pool, and all the room this place had to offer.

After a couple of LOOOOONG days moving out it is official.

And now it looks like we were never there.

Goodbye Santa Fe and Salt Lake City!
We will miss you!
