Getting out of Dodge

I've actually never really understood that expression Getting out of Dodge. I don't know where Dodge is, but I thought it fit cause we really didn't have any idea where we were going two Saturday's ago, beyond Park City, we just knew we needed OUT!

Our GPS was at James's work van so we pulled out my trusty old Atlas. It has seen better days, but I love that thing.

First we went to the Park City Outlet Mall. Nothing too exciting there, but we did each get a shirt at the American Eagle store. Well James got two, so I guess that means I get to buy another one sometime...

Then we decided to head to Wyoming cause it would be awesome to just cross the border for a few hours. But then after talking to a few people, we confirmed what I had already learned from traveling across the southern part of that state once before, there is NOTHING there and NOTHING to do. So we opted out of that and decided to take the scenic route through Oakley, Kamas, and Heber City...

It was beautiful! I was much to lazy to get out of the car to take pictures though, so you get the through the car window shots.

All of our traveling made us hungry, so you can bet we pulled off immedietly when we spotted this little gem on the side of the road.
It was AWESOME! We had our own Juke Box so we put in a few quarters and played Pretty Woman and all kinds of Beach Boy songs. Then we shared a delicious Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with fries.

Heber City Valley
It was a great trip out, I love a good road trip. Sometimes you just need to get out of Dodge, I guess.

A Night at the Olive Garden

James won a gift certificate to The Olive Garden from winning a production contest at his work last week. He did awesome and I was super proud of him! Well, we went to try out our new gift card last weekend.

Now, what I tell you next, WILL NOT STOP ME from going to Olive Garden ever again, It just has to be talked about because it was so stinkin funny and kind of depressing, at least for James. I didn't order it! haha

There is this new item on the menu, I think it is Stuffed Chicken Marsala, which sounds delicious and the pictures make it look delicious. But WARNING...

It smells like a toilet. Probably worse than a toilet.

When the waiter brought our food over, we both were hoping it was just the waiter's BO but the scent was still super strong when he left and it was confirmed a part of James's food when he took a bite. Tastes and Smells like exactly what you would think a toilet smells and tastes like. Ugh!

To be fair, it might have just been a strong cheese mixed in the sauce that we aren't used to or something. But James loves strong cheeses and he couldn't handle this one. So, he ate quite a bit of my food and we went out for frozen yogurt afterwards to get the taste out of our mouths.
Next time...we are getting just the delicious salad and breadsticks cause it is safer.

Thanks Andy

I work an 8 to 5 Job.
While it is a good job with great people,
It is not a very creative job.
I need creativity.
I need to make stuff.
I am a right brained person
(or whatever side of the brain is the creative side.)

But sometimes, I get voices in
my head (they can be voices of myself,
they can be voices of friends and family I
make up and put inside my head, they can be
the voice of Satan himself, they can be the
voice of fear) and these voices tell
me "I CAN'T do this" or "THIS is Ugly", or
"You can NEVER do that as good as she can",
or "NOBODY will ever want you to do that"...

I just want to say
THANKS ANDY
for this quote.

It is my new inspiration!

"Don't think about making art,
just get it done. Let everyone else
decide whether it's good or bad,
whether they love it or hate it.
While they are deciding,
make even more art.
*Andy Warhol*

I found this quote from this cute blog.

Our little Obsession...

So...besides The Office, it takes alot for me to get hooked into a show.

Well, we started watching The Biggest Loser from the beginning and we love it! Not just me though, James is hooked too! It is nice to never have to make plans for Tuesday night! We have a standard date night just planting our butts on the couch with popcorn and watch other people exercise and eat healthy. And in case we miss it on Tuesday, you can bet we catch it on the Internet...

Our favorite's so far this season...

He is my top pic for Biggest Loser! He and his cousin are the hardest workers, have the most heart, and are just all around awesome!

I think these two girls are awesome and hard working. They aren't big complainers and just get in and do their thing. I can respect that.

And I love this guy...I just want to squeeze him! He seems like a very genuine person so when he has a good week, you can't help but be excited for him!
Those are our favorites for this season! (Okay, so it is the only season I've ever watched, but I can see how people get addicted...)

Ogden Canyon with the Boys

About a month ago, James's Brother invited us to go to spend the weekend with him and his boys in Ogden Canyon at a Condo he had through a time share. We did and it was so fun and very relaxing!

We hung out, went for drives, watched movies, I got to read my book, ate pizza and chicken enchiladas, and went SLEDDING!! Twice! It was so fun and those boys are super cute!

The Boys getting ready to head out.

I just love how his little bum waddled with all his sledding equipment on.

We went to a little hill just outside of our condo first, then later that afternoon we went to a much BIGGER hill, but I only got pictures at this hill. I was too busy sledding to worry about pictures the second time.

Collin was our guiney pig. We made him go down first. To make sure the 4 foot hill was safe.

I LOVE everything about these pictures! He is my little boyfriend...

Mmmmmmm...I love this boy!!!

OKAY, this one again just because I can't stand the cuteness of it!

The smile, the scrunched nose, the fresh stream of snot and the expression of pure joy on his face just does something for me. Love it!!

The weekend was awesome!

Cakes again!

Here is my final and very colorful cake from our last night in our Level 1 Cake class.

Don't even worry about all the cake crumbs smashed into the frosting, ok. I had some MAJOR cake trauma right before class.

I'm not going to lie, my roses were a little sketchy when I was first making them, but when you just pile them all on top of the cake like that, they don't look as bad as I thought. I was excited that nobody called my cake a cabbage patch this time.

I had lots of cool ideas I wanted to try out on this cake, but I found that class time was running out, my skills were severely lacking, and I was much to lazy to mess around with the frosting anymore.

Teresa and I start our Level 2 course next Wednesday! We are pretty darn excited about it too! It just feels good to do something creative, no matter what the things I create look like. It's good for the soul!
