Getting out of Dodge

I've actually never really understood that expression Getting out of Dodge. I don't know where Dodge is, but I thought it fit cause we really didn't have any idea where we were going two Saturday's ago, beyond Park City, we just knew we needed OUT!

Our GPS was at James's work van so we pulled out my trusty old Atlas. It has seen better days, but I love that thing.

First we went to the Park City Outlet Mall. Nothing too exciting there, but we did each get a shirt at the American Eagle store. Well James got two, so I guess that means I get to buy another one sometime...

Then we decided to head to Wyoming cause it would be awesome to just cross the border for a few hours. But then after talking to a few people, we confirmed what I had already learned from traveling across the southern part of that state once before, there is NOTHING there and NOTHING to do. So we opted out of that and decided to take the scenic route through Oakley, Kamas, and Heber City...

It was beautiful! I was much to lazy to get out of the car to take pictures though, so you get the through the car window shots.

All of our traveling made us hungry, so you can bet we pulled off immedietly when we spotted this little gem on the side of the road.
It was AWESOME! We had our own Juke Box so we put in a few quarters and played Pretty Woman and all kinds of Beach Boy songs. Then we shared a delicious Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with fries.

Heber City Valley
It was a great trip out, I love a good road trip. Sometimes you just need to get out of Dodge, I guess.

Nothing in southern Wyoming?! Lance's parents won't be too happy to hear that you guys dissed them! :) They're just outside of Evanston, so next time you want to get out of dodge you can head up that way and stop by and see them. True besides them there's not much their besides them and an old fort...but they know a few other cool spots too.

How fun! Sam and I used to take that drive when we were first married. What a cool diner! I wish I would have known about it way back then ;) I miss those days of going on spontaneous trips....

Hey I know where you could come visit in Wyoming! We'd even let you have our hide-a-bed. :) Have you been to Devil's tower or Mount Rushmore? It's only a couple hours away from here... I also know where you could stay in a cabin 3 miles from Yellowstone...
